This new video offers a first look at my latest body of work, a project rooted in the language, character and colour of Glasgow, the city where I was born. What began as an exploration of distinctive Glaswegian words, the ones that make the city so unique, evolved into thirteen small-scale colour chip screenprints and a large-scale collaboration with Glasgow-based photographer Chris Swan.
Together, we have created a series that blends vernacular, colour, photography and industrial printing into something new. Beautiful Shambles is the result, and this short film captures just a small part of the works that will be on display at the exhibition.
The show will also feature work by Stewart Swan, Ross Ryan and Chris, bringing together a diverse mix of perspectives, mediums and Glasgow stories.
